How old do you have to be to get your lip pierces without parent permission?

I'm 16 turning 17 in a month, I live in Tacoma, and I really want to get a one side snake bite but my mother is super old fashinoned and against any tatoos or face piercings. I'm considering doing it my self but I would rather have a proffesional do it...any suggestions? How old do you have to be to get your lip pierces without parent permission?
do not do this yourself! Professional piercers REALLY know what they are doing and they have highly clean instruments. They know how to prevent nerve damage, they are clean, and they know proper placement. Honestly, if you do find a place that is willing to break the law to get yourself pierced, you have to wonder what other laws they are breaking in terms of preventing the spread of blood born pathogens like HIV and Hep C (my uncle died of hep C transmitted from a scummy tattoo parlor).

I have nothing against piercings, I have my favorite place where I've gotten most of my piercings and my tat. I know you don't want to hear this, but wait until you are 18. If your mother is as old fashioned as you say and you do get it, there is a good chance that she will force you to take it out and then you have a hole in your face that may scar.

When you do decide to get it done, make sure you go to a good place. My pal got her tongue done at a randomly chosen place in NY. The lady messed up the first time and she had to get it redone (thank god she didn't get nerve damage). People who feel body mod is an art form and create a professional and artistic salon, will be your best bet. Also, don't be afraid to make sure your piercing is not being done by an apprentice. My piercer has been at her establishment for years. She was VERY good and even had a trick so I wouldn't scream.

Just wait. It will be better quality. Trust me.

How can I convince my parents to let me switch schools?

I don't like my school now. I'm not sure why. I have friends and don't get in trouble but I want to go to this private school. We can but I need a reason to switch schools. Like why I odn't like this school. How can I convince my parents to let me switch schools?
I suggest you find the pluses of the private school. What does it offer that your school doesn't. How will it help your future. Let your parents see the positives so you do not need to make up any negatives.

  • How can I convince my parents to let me go to France?

Next spring my French class is going to France. I will be 16 and will be in my second year of French. But I don't think my parents will let me travel out of the country with out them. How can I convince them to let me go?How can I convince my parents to let me go to France?
ive been to france before its fantastic, tell them its a learning experience and you need to explore other cultures for yourself, the world is changing and you need to see the world from a diffrent point of view to understand it. also the educational experience is a plus, france is full of amazing arcitecture music food and art. Also why dont you see if one of your parrents will go with you if they dont want you to go alone, a trip is much more rewarding when you have someone close to you to remember it with, i went with my mom years ago and we still talk about our trips to italy spain france and britian. if you go remember to take chances and do things you think you may not like, eat wierd food and listen to music youve never heard, make friends with locals and go into shops with cool stuff you may not get to go again so live life to the fullestHow can I convince my parents to let me go to France?
if your going with a group of kids, your going to be safe. Maybe you could ask one of your parents to chaperone? It really is a great experience. Talk to them, seriosuly and calmly, and tell them the benefits you'll get out the trip, and all of the things you'll learn!! France is amazing! Take the chance when you can!
You should probably ask them before jumping to conclusions.

    =]
Explain to them how it could be a valuable part of your foreign language education, and money might be an issue, flying to france isnt free.
In these difficult economic times, maybe they can't let you go because they can't afford it.
    ';its a once in a lifetime experience! i can pay for half the flight.';

my sister went to amsterdam ith her senior class.. hahah amsterdam!
    Say ';Please, Mum, I really want to go to France! And most kids will be going! I will stick with the group, not do anything bad. It's educational! Please!';
Tell them it would be a cultural learning experience.

Have your teacher speak to your parents?

What do you think the parents role in piano tution should be?

Should they be involved in there child's practicing and reviews etc?

I have to do an essay on parental roles in piano tuition and am stuck about were to start.

Any ideas? What do you think the parents role in piano tution should be?
The parents role is vital in piano tuition. All children need encouragement to practise an instrument, even if they are totally passionate about it. There are so many distractions and also so many other pressures for children these days, particularly as they get older and have more homework and exams to think about. Parents also need to be willing to pay for lessons and music books, as well as exams if necessary. They are also probably needed as a taxi service to get them to and from lessons. And they need to be very understanding at the times when the child says that they want to give up lessons, which will happen at some point, usually when it all gets too difficult. At that point they need to encourage, be open and talk about it. Children deserve to have the chance to chop and change hobbies - how else can they 'dabble' in different things to find the thing they truly love doing? Good luck with your essay. What do you think the parents role in piano tution should be?
I pay for my daughter's piano lessons and help her with practice when she needs it. I often sit in on the lesson. I don't say anything, but I am in the room. However, the teacher is a very good friend of mine and that makes a difference. I probably wouldn't sit in on the lessons if we weren't good friends. In that case, though, I would want occasional reports from the teacher as to how my daughter is doing.

I believe that parents need to very involved in their children's education, both school and things like piano lessons.
I am a private piano instructor and I wish that parents were more involved in their child's practicing and lessons. I wish that the parents would ask me how their child is doing so I could update them on what the student is learning and what they need to work on. Many of the younger students have difficulties focusing and cooperating, so I wish their parents would ask me about their behavior instead of me having to tell them that there are problems. The parent doesn't have to sit in on the lessons, but asking about what the child is learning and making sure that they practice enough is really helpful.
Beyond the basics of paying for the lessons, getting them there, and buying the needed supplies, parents need to ensure quiet practice time, encourage the child to slow down when frustrated, make recitals a family priority. Parents need to make sure the teacher they choose doesn't have such a strict plan that the child isn't choosing any of the music played. The child will play longer if they have a say in what they play.
    Obviously:

    Paying for them

    Taking and collecting the child

    Providing music books when needed

    Paying for/taking to exams.

Providing instrument that is tuned and maintained properly.

But these are just the least you should expect from a parent.

A supportive parent should ensure the child undertakes practise by setting up a home routine where practice time is built in in a constructive way - otherwise what's the point of continuing with lessons?

Monitoring progress by listening regularly - praising child and acknowledging success.

Liasing with tutor - either via practice book or verbally to check that the child/tutor is happy.

What they definately shouldn't do is force practice or public performance when the child doesn't want to, because that'll make the child resentful. Or, what my mother used to do, - sing along to every song/piece being learnt - although her response when I complained was 'that it'd be a sad day for me when her voice was still' - guess she's right there.

Is it okay to let parents sleep with their 13 year old child?

We have 13 year old boy/girl whom insist they sleep with us in their bed. I was out last night and when I came home dad was in bed with both of them (not sexual) but I am beginning worry ab out how this affect them emotional. Is it normal to have 13 year old boy/girl twins to sleep in bed wth mom dad still, no?Is it okay to let parents sleep with their 13 year old child?
No, this is 100 percent wrong. You need to stop this now, or you might get your kids taken away from you? Whats wrong with you?Is it okay to let parents sleep with their 13 year old child?
Not constantly, maybe every once in a while. I'm 13 and my mum sometimes lies with me in my bed for a while and dozes off, but i don't demand her to come. It's more of a bonding thing, if it becomes obsessive and something your kids demand then you should start to worry.
no..my sister is 9 and my parents wont let her sleep in their room anymore. you should have stoped that a long time ago.

ask them why they want you in there and maby talk to a doctor about that..because that is not normal at all!

im 14 (close enough to their age) and i will not even let my parents in my room! exespecially in my bed with me!
No, that is wrong and preverted. You should know better. They are old enough to sleep in their own bed. And if your husband is scared of the dark, buy him a nightlite.
    NONONNNONONONNONONONONONONONONON
I've read your other questions, and you are a troll.
you need to make them sleep in their own beds this is not right.
erm, no. They're not a 3 year old anymore.

Why would they still be sleeping with parents?
No. What kind of parent lets that happen?
What the hell is wrong with you? I think your a troll...
    ..right

How to talk my parents into a Jeep Wrangler?

My dream car has always been a Jeep Wrangler and I was just wondering if any of you had any advice on how to talk my parents into letting me get one.

    Their main concern is safety...

Have any of you ever talked the parentals into something that seemed impossible to talk them into? How to talk my parents into a Jeep Wrangler?
Since safety is a concern, do your research on safety and show you parents its good points in safety. Unfortunately the bad points have always been glorified, where is has been proven that Speed, driver error, and alcohol is the cause of role overs and the safety role over tests have always been over exaggerated by extreme maneuvers. Where a safe driver would 99.9% prevent or avoid the problem. The wrangler has major improvements in preventing role overs and major safety improvements over the Willey's which was prone to role over's do to it's stiff suspension, short wheel base and narrow width. Also try www.allpar.com and search jeep safety should have info on the jeep

Good Luck and enjoy your JeepHow to talk my parents into a Jeep Wrangler?
Well if they wont let you have one then go out and buy one your old enough too. I went out and bought a 78 cj5 when I was 15 to work on paid for everything myself and now being almost 18 I still drive it to this day. If you dont want to buy it by yourself and your parents wont buy it then hold off on it your still young and will get another chance to get your dream jeep.
First you must do understand sales technics. Find another vehicle that is different (but you still like) and comparable in price. This way you are presenting a option, this or that?

Then you need to learn all you can about Jeeps. Things like, how they were the GI's best Friend during WW2. In bad weather how you will be safer because of the Full Frame construction and while it doesn't make one invincible, it does give you the ability to get out through bad driving conditions safely.

    Good Luck
If the main concern is Safety, then the point that they're perfectly stable on the road should help.

Here's a list on the crash test ratings of Wranglers of various years.

    http://www.internetautoguide.com/crash-t鈥?/a>
I think you should be thankful for whatever they buy you!
First. get a job. Second save about $20,000.00. Then go buy one. Oh yeah. Get a license to drive.
As for their concerns about safety, the wrangler actually did OK in all the crash test(with the optional side airbags) so it really shouldn't be a concern. You didn't mention the other concerns they may have. Reliability is pretty good, maintenance costs are average, insurance is a bit higher than the four door family car.

If they are paying for it then you should listen to what they have to say. Dream car or not, they don't owe you a jeep(or any other car). Be happy with whatever you get. All I got was a diploma for my graduation.

What happens if a parent fails a hair drug test in court in the state of texas?

Depends on why the court ordered the drug test and the consequences the court provided if the test was failed.

If it is in regards to visitation or custody I would think the person that failed would lose custody (at least temporarily) and the visitation may be only with supervision.

A lawyer familiar with the specific case can probably give an answer as it relates to this case. What happens if a parent fails a hair drug test in court in the state of texas?
It is entered as a foibled folical. Then you have toupee. What happens if a parent fails a hair drug test in court in the state of texas?
The hair can be sectioned to specific periods, like a week at a time. I say ';can'; because I have no way of knowing if they are doing that with the samples you are referring to. This would let them know approximately when the drugs were last used.

Edit: Joey, you deserve BA for that horrible pun! ROTFLMAO
    They get executed.

I'm just assuming here--I mean, didn't Texas execute a mentally retarded man? If they can do that, I'd say anything's possible there.

How do you as parents feel about using hot sauce as a disciplinary measure?

I have a sister and sister-in-law who have at some point use hot sauce to control their childrens behavior. I have a 16 mo old and would never dream if it. I know it can some times be hard but, I have noticed that they are not very consistent, they do not use eye contact, and most attempts to discipline are threats. Further more I always hear my sister use the same squeaky voice she uses to praise and play to discipline. How do you feel about this method of discipline (ages range from 6-3)? I think it is crazy and cruel and, the child will at some point just get used to it.How do you as parents feel about using hot sauce as a disciplinary measure?
Consistency is always a key to good discipline. Whether or not hot suace will work is really dependent upon the child's tolerance for the spices - my 3 year old son LOVES spicy food, so it would never work for him. Likewise, he has a high pain tolerance, so spanking doesn't work either, while a time out works wonders. My nieces and nehpew are quite different in what works and what doesn't.

My real concern on using the hot sauce wouldn't be cruelty (after all, it's just hot sauce), but how the use of it would affect their overall eating habits - IE, if hot sauce is used as punishment, you're likely to get a child that will simply refuse to eat anything spicy for the rest of their life.

To everyone saying using Hot Sauce is cruel and torture: It's just food, unless they're using one of the super hot varieties. I ask you, how is it worse than my Mom forcing me to eat all my peas, despite the fact I've _always_ hated how slimy they are?How do you as parents feel about using hot sauce as a disciplinary measure?
It borders on child abuse in my opinion
I think that is the most awful way to discipline a child, what's wrong with them... Thank God they weren't my parents!!! I think they need to get parenting help and fast!
Oh come on everybody, it's not so bad. Of course, the amount and frequency and the ageof the child must be taken into consideration but a drop of sauce as a last resort is ok. I can't really agree with the rest of this person's parenting, but I would use tabasco sauce and have considered it for my son's 1 1/2 long biting habit.
It only works if the child acts up really bad or says something bad.
Call CPS. It's considered torture for the children.
Spanking is ok now and again on the botton. But that is abuse to me.
It's ridiculous that the variety of posts here are calling the use of hot sauce 'cruel' 'torture' and child abuse. IT'S HOT SAUCE!!!! If it were poured into a wound, I'd say that was cruel, but a little hot sauce on the tongue, COME ON! It's not pleasant, but hello, it's punishment it's not supposed to be pleasant. I'm not sure whether I would use it or not, although I know that it wouldn't work with my 2-year-old son. He likes spicy foods and has a high tolerance for pain. Spanking doesn't work with him either, though time-outs are beginning to. I think the method of punishment all depends upon the child, and every type of punishment is likely to have some sort of lasting effect on the child. With hot sauce, it would seem the lasting effect isn't much, since everyone's tastes change as they grow older anyways, it is not likely that a child would forever spurn hot sauce b/c he was punished with it.

For any punishment to work it must be consistent, and wholly different than positive reinforcement. In fact, for discipline to be effective at all, attachment parenting is the only way to go. It's a lot better to avoid the situation in the first place (say your kid acts up when kept up past 9pm...don't keep him past 9pm except musts on special occasions.) Parental control of the child's environment is THE most valuable discipline tool. It helps to teach the child self control. But as for the hot sauce being cruel? Absolutely not. It's just food, not a torture device! For the older child (7 and up) hot sauce works for the punishment to fit the crime. When a child misbehaves using their mouth (lying, cussing, biting) this gets them where the problem is. The amount needs to be extremely small, though. Like putting a tiny drop on a finger and then rubbing it on the tongue. Sure, there are lots of other ways to punish a child, so why not try them first? But for some kids this may be the only thing that works, and it's certainly not going to damage them permanently. If parents are afraid their child will choke, they shouldn't do it.
It is actually considered child abuse and even if it wasnt I couldnt use that form of punishment on my children because they love hot sauce and put it on all kinds of things ecspecialy roman noodles.
I believe it is a form of abuse and I would never do that to my children.

Physical child abuse is an injury resulting from physical aggression. Even if the injury was not intended, the act is considered physical abuse.

It can burn the child's esophagus and cause their tongue to swell. This can create a potential choking hazard.

The injury from physical child abuse may be the result of:

    beating, slapping, or hitting

    pushing, shaking, kicking, or throwing

    pinching, biting, choking, or hair-pulling

burning with cigarettes, scalding water, or other hot objects

    severe physical punishment

Is Physical Punishment the Same As Physical Abuse?

Physical abuse is an injury resulting from physical aggression. Physical punishment is the use of physical force with the intent of inflicting bodily pain, but not injury, for the purpose of correction or control. As you can see, physical punishment can easily get out of control and become physical abuse.

    Just because something works, that doesn't mean it's a good idea.....Fear can be very effective as a discipline technique, but it's overkill. You haven't corrected the problem, and it means nothing in terms of building character. Our job as parents is to build character, not to adjust behavior....The tongue doesn't do the lying, the heart does the lying. When you direct a form of discipline to a body part that created the problem, it's like in [other cultures] when they cut off your hand for stealing.';

I think your sister and sister-in-law are being evil and disrespectful to their children. They are abusing them and it needs to stop. They obviously are uneducated and don't care what can happen physically and emotionally to their children.
The term child abuse comes to mind.

Spanking is needed from time to time, but one or two swats on the butt is enough. Hot Sauce is just plain cruel and you know it.
After my youngest son picked up the habit of saying sh*t all the time at the age of 4 I used a drop of Tabasco on his tongue everytime he said it. After the 3rd time he quit saying it. He's 8 now and loves spicey foods. I thought it was by far better than using soap which was a favorite of my parents growing up. As much as I hated having Irish Spring ground into my teeth (I stopped doing whatever it was I got into trouble for after that), I wasn't about to do that to my kids. Soap may be non toxic, but it's just plain gross.
    thats abuse
It is cruel. How can a mother intentionally cause her child pain???

That's not discipline, honey, that sounds like child abuse.

You should have a long talk with both of them. If that don't work, call child protecctive services for advice.
thats plain out child abuse and if i had your real name and address, i would have the law on your door step .
that is considered a form of child abuse in my mind. period.
that is abuse you need to report it she could be causing harm to the kids!!!!! go report her now!!!
    I consider it cruel myself.
It depends upon how they are administering the punishment and how much hot sauce they are using...are they using the hottest stuff there is and pouring it down the child's throat? If so, then this is excessive abuse.

I remember a trick my Dad used to use on us kids (there were 4 of us) and I don't know how he did it, but he could always catch us in a lie. His trick was to tell us that if we told a lie, our tongue would burn and he'd know. He'd secretly put a drop of tabasco sauce on his middle finger, then ask us a question...as soon as we answered the question we had to stick out our tongue and he'd touch it. If we told the truth - it didn't burn, but if we lied...oh man! We just didn't know that when we told the truth, Dad used his index finger and when we lied he used the finger with the tabasco sauce.

Needless to say, none of us are any the worse for that discipline...not like friends whose parents would beat them for lying or stealing or getting into trouble.

Most importantly, you should talk to your sister and let her know your concerns...
I agree with you, its crazy and cruel. There are so many other positive reinforcement ways to get your child to behave and follow rules.
I have herd of using it for biting but not anything major I think it could cause ulcers or something. It's wrong in my book just wrong!

Haha, my University does that!! It's such a pain because I live in a suite with four or five other girls and whenever someone has someone over the door has to be open, and you can hear all the dumb noises in the hall I hate it.

I always go off campus when I want to be with mixed company. It's such a childish rule. We're in college! I can sort of understand if your parents make you if you're still living with them, but geez. How many of your parents make you keep the door to your bedroom open when your bf/gf comes over?
My parents did, when I was your age. None of my boyfriends' parents did though. It didn't really matter though because it wasn't like we were doing much that couldn't be done in front of my parents anyway.

How to convince my parents to repaint my room?

last year i begged my parents on painting my room purple--big mistake. it looks like barney threw up in it. and i have a purple bedspread so it makes it look even worse. i've been trying to tell them i NEED to change it. because it nauseates me. but nooo, they don't listen to me. do you have any ideas on how to convince them to repaint it? or any ideas on how to change it without painting it? i think i might sleep on the couch if i don't fix this quickly. How to convince my parents to repaint my room?
tell them u'll repaint it yourself if they let u paint it over. or tell them the paint is chipping and u want to repaint it.How to convince my parents to repaint my room?
    well,

I would suggest you start looking at ways you can soften the purple by using some material that will go with the purple. Look for complimentary colors to your purple.

Start saving your money to redecorate your room. You might be able to purchase some sheer material to hang on your wall.

I would imagine your parents aren't willing to invest in more paint. so you save your money and maybe do some odd jobs to purchase your own gallons of paint. Maybe then they will be willing to assist you.
pay for it..or fill ur walls with art or something calming and just get a new bedspread. soften everything else if you have loud walls
just tell them it gets you motion sick

Where can you get birth control in illinois for free without parent consent?

Alright well I'm 16 and want to be on birth control. The only problem is I don't feel comfortable telling my parents I'm active. I'm stressing out because I want to get on birth control before something goes wrong. PLEASE. If anyone knows somewhere I could go to get birth control for free or if you have any other helpful answer for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Where can you get birth control in illinois for free without parent consent?
Anywhere but you must be a minor who requires contraceptives for health reasons, are married, have a child, are pregnant, who have ever been pregnant, or who have a referral from a doctor.Where can you get birth control in illinois for free without parent consent?
You're way too young to be having sex. Please just stop. There are way too many risks at your age. Despite popular belief, teenage sex is neither normal nor healthy. You can say no to your boyfriend, or drop him. Wait to start again until you're old enough to think about real commitment to whoever you sleep with.

About birth control, the pill has serious health risks. Don't take it. If you really must have sex, which believe it or not your don't, condoms are available everywhere without parental consent.
I don't know if you have a planned parenthood in illinois, but in Ca they have them everywhere, its basically a sexual health clinic where you can get tested, pregnancy tests and birth control. whether its free for you depends on your income and financial status, if its low enough and you have no insurance its free. Google Planned parenthood to find one close to you, if there aren't any just look up any free clinics in your area. Good luck :-)
trying going to your public aide office. or crisis pregnancy center. or sneak to your dr office and ask him. say how can i go about getting this without telling my parents he or she may know where you can go for that. or just simply call your dr office and ask.
Planned Parenthood should be able to.

I disagree with ppl who are telling you to wait until they ask. As a child, I didn't ask my parents anything... then an older boy in the neighborhood decided to molest me. When they start asking. Then your answers should be appropriate for their age - you don't always need to be specific.
I think at an early age it is good to identify your childs gender and sex organs with appropriate names, not peepee or who who stuff. Whent hey become curious about it let them know ie they have a brother, cousin whatever that they see and notice the difference. Be honest and open. This will lead to healthy images about their body by not putting a shame on their sex organs. But if you need an age 3 or 4. But they should know they have penis when they are talking. If kids ask we should be honest and answer them. Ps this is just my opinion
    When they ask
    As soon as they ask.

    ';... gorls usually have vaginas and boys usually have a penis... ';

I'd skip the ';usually';; too complicated to explain the exceptions when they are toddlers. I knew both of those words by the time I was 4.
Well if they have siblings they'll already be aware, so it should be whenever they start asking questions.
    When they ask.
Well, we started with my daughter when she was 2 years old.......because I had her little brother. You should start teaching them when they start asking!
Soon as they start asking. Or when they say or do something inappropriate.
    2
There is no specific age, but lets hope ur kids won't be interested in sex until they're OLD enough...if they find it or wonders or u notice they're surrounded with those questions or interest or curious, then u may bring up light issues and let them learn themselves. I grew up with many adults relatives and learned the morrals and values and respect by surrounding with adults relatives. And my parents never taught me or told me, i learned it myself, it is everywhere. But if u notice ur kids are in ';sex'; attitude, its time to teach them about condoms and AIDS and others to be aware of.
The earlier, the better I figure because there won't be a ';shock'; later.
start teaching them when they start asking or wandering
Always answer the questions to the point that curiosity is satisfied. Our discussions started the first time my girls watched me change a little boys diaper, or saw a little boy running naked in the sprinklers. I don't use the correct terms, just your bum, or your pee-pee, I explain that girls and boys all have equivalent parts, but girls are all tucked in nicely so it doesn't get in the way when babies are born. It worked great!
you don't wait until they ask. You start teaching them when they are preschool age about the differences in boys and girls and for the record, you don't use the word usually, why would you say usually? And for the record a girls outer private area is called a Vulva. A vagina is on the inside of the body.

What is something your parents said to you that you will definately repeat to you children?

Is there something comforting or positive your parents used to say or said at one point that you will say to your children? My Mom used to say: ';I love you more every day!';What is something your parents said to you that you will definately repeat to you children?
They told us they loved us every day. They taught us manners. We had to call adults either aunt/uncle or Mr/Mrs..We had to say yes ma'am %26amp; no maam, yes sir no sir,etc..I am glad that they did %26amp; will do the same with my kids..What is something your parents said to you that you will definately repeat to you children?
l was reared by my grandmother and with outstretched arms every day being sent off to school she would say to me 'l love you this much and more'.

and thats how im gonna be with my kids!
Hi, my dad always used to say 'If you can't be good; be careful' and I used to laugh at him but now I will definitely say this to my child.
If i said anything negative about myself i had to think about ten things positive about myself and recite them....Even as a teenager! i understand why now and when my kids call eachother poopy heads (2yrs and 4yrs) i do the same thing
You are so special! and this is kind of a funny one that my dad would tell me when I got older and was dating. Remember, love makes the world go round but money makes it spin and you can have both but without money love is much harder!
Alawys use good manners in a Restaurant.
My mum always said to wear comfy shoes to work/school, don't try to wear trendy ones cos it won't be worth the footache in the long run!! Hard to understand whilst you are a school girl and want to be trendy and cool, but when i started work i realised she was right, i never told her she was though!!
My mom and I when I was younger use to come up with things that were abundantly available and say that we loved them more than that i.e. ';I love you more than there are grass blades in the world'; ';I love you more than there are seconds in a year'; ';I love you more than all the sand grains in the whole world'; It was fun and really made you feel special!!!
    ';There's nothing worse than a liar.';

We'd get in more trouble for the lie than we would for the ';crime';.
    I love you
    My dad used to always tell us '; Family is all you got so you got to get along You guys have the same blood flowing through your veins';
    ';I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as you're living my baby you'll be.';

    ';Pimples are just jealous freckles';

How can I find out my social security number if my parents don't know it and the card is misplaced?

My parents forgot it and the card is misplaced. I need my ssn to apply for a class. Can I call the social security office ?How can I find out my social security number if my parents don't know it and the card is misplaced?
Yeah, or ask if they have a copy of their tax return, because they had to put your SSN on the 1040 form to be able to claim you as a dependent. How can I find out my social security number if my parents don't know it and the card is misplaced?
You can get the SSN from your parents last tax form since they had to have it to put you on as a dependent. Then, taking that as well as a photo ID and your birth certificate, you can go to your local SS Office and have a new one mailed to you, plus they'll give you a paper that shows you ordered a new card, which will include the number. In the meantime, use the number from the tax form for your class forms, but the college will most likely want to actually see the ss card so you will still need the card that you'll get from the SS office shortly thereafter.

If for some reason your parents don't HAVE your number on a tax form, you can still take a photo ID and your BC to your local SS office and the above will still happen.
Sounds strange to me. Your parents have to put your number on their tax returns so how can they not know it? Something doesn't add up in this situation. Are you sure you even have a number?

Anyway, you can contact the SS office, they will tell you what ID's are required to get a new card.

What age do you think is the worst to lose a parent?

I lost my mother when I was 9, which I think around that age is probably the worst. To me, it's the age where I was old enough to remember her and miss her, but young enough to not actually know her and become really close to her. What age do you think is the worst to lose a parent?
Any age is awful. Even if you're an adult and have lived a long time with your parents, you still feel unprepared for their death when they're gone. Be comforted because you do have memories of your mom. Some people lose parents before they can remember them. Some lose parents in their teenage years, when they're estranged. There's no good time to lose a parent, but we should always be grateful for whatever time we had with them. What age do you think is the worst to lose a parent?
Well to answer your question, probably ages 7 - 17. The easiest age to lose a parent is probably from the day you were born to 6. No doubt that the single easiest age is when your about 1 year old because you havent even gotten the time to know your parents that well and at that age your brain isnt fully developed, so you don't understand death. I'm 11 and no, I havent lost a parent and I dont plan to, I have lost 1 of my grandparents and all but 1 of my great grandparents.I'm no expert at this stuff, but my friend lost his dad last year (not gonna say how), but it wasn't murder or sickness or diseas or a car crash and it wasnt an accident, so that should narrow it down.So im just using that to make my answer.Sorry that happened to you at such a young age, I now that id probably die of sadness if I lost a parent, if thats even possible.

Also, sorry my answer was so long, I'm kinda low on points and have alot of questions.

    Hope that helped.
I am terribly sorry for your loss; that has to be very painful - something i could not imagine. And for you, 9 years old has to be the worst time to lose your mom. You must think of her often and wonder what she'd say or do at different times in your life.

My answer: Any age is the worst time to lose a parent; I am in my 40's and I am still not ready to lose either of my parents; it is one of the 5 major stressful milestones in our lives - Each day, I am grateful that I still have my parents, but I almost lost both of them in the past two years, and when my mom was in the hospital, I got choked up; I couldn't talk because even though I say I love you ever chance I get; there are still things I have not yet said. I don't think we are ever ready, we just have to deal with it as it comes.
I lost my mom when i was around 6 from cancer. The worst thing is that i was really attached to her but I felt nothing. From time to time it hits me and I just break down. Even when my dad told me she was going to pass away, i didn't feel anything. I regret that time soo much because i didn't realize i'd never see her again. I really wish i used that time to get to know her more. I'm 15 now and would do anything to get her back
I didn't know much of my mom either, I met her a few times, and heard of her through family, had a few of her books she read. she died of cancer when I was 15. I don't really know her at all. Sometimes it helps when you can find a mother figure in your life. At least someone who's older and wiser you can go to for advise at times and do things together.
I went through the same with my dad when I was 13

I feel the same way, but in turn I think not having a parent at all is just the same. At least we are comforted with knowing that that person was there for us, unlike situations where moms and dads abandon their children or are never a part of their life.
I know it would suck if you lost a parent when you where a baby/todler...because you have nothing to look back on...like remember when but a 9 year old can...therfore will be more emotional when it comes to this topic vs a toddler losing a parent...they have no record of what they did together!!!!
I lost my mother at the age of 14...I totally understand what you mean. I think it is worse to lose a parent at a young age, because there is always the ';what if'; question, or that ';I wonder what it would be like..'; question. It can also affect their adult life and relationships.
Well i lost my dad about 2 years ago :(

    I'm 15. It really hurts.

I mean it gets me sad that he's not going to be here when i get married. Or he's not going to meet his grandsons :'(

    Omg i'm sad now.

    I'm sorry about your mom.
It is bad to lose a parent at any age i don'tt no what itwouldd be like to lose one at the age of 9.
I lost my Dad at 18 to cancer.

    That was a year ago.

Losing a parent at any age is the worst
it does not matter what age you are when you lose a parent. Just losing them is bad enough at any age.
no matter what age it's hard...

Can having a cheating parent at a young age cause you to feel insecure in your marriage?

My mother had my younger brother with someone other than my dad when I was only ten years old. Even though I got over it eventually, sometimes I wonder if that is why I feel so insecure in my marriage because I fear my husband will do the same thing to me. I don't know if I could bear that again. Has anyone ever had this problem and what can you do to overcome it?Can having a cheating parent at a young age cause you to feel insecure in your marriage?

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Bad-Chi鈥?/a>Can having a cheating parent at a young age cause you to feel insecure in your marriage?
I think that it can yes. What we see as children and what we are exposed to affects us as adults. You can take it one of two ways, you can let it affect you negatively or positively. You can always be worried that he will be cheating, or you can have faith in your man and your marriage, and in the choice that you made in a husband.

I was around a lot of negative things growing up, drug use, infidelity, gambling addictions, trouble with the law. It took a lot of realizing that just because I knew it happened it didn't mean it was going to happen to me.

As for overcoming, it can be as simple as just working past on your having faith in your marriage, or it can take therapy and having someone to talk to about what you went through in your youth. You say you got over it, but if you are having these insecurities, you still have a part of your that is not completely past what your mother did.
yes it can make you feel insecure cause when a parent cheats, they are not only cheating on the spouse, they are cheating on the whole family. It's hard to trust after that. I t took me years to build trust for my husband and it was hard at times and it is fragile now. counseling would prob be best.
I think that yes, it can have an effect on your marriage, but only if you let it. ;) You seem to know that there's that chance, so you are aware of it.

Just be sure not to punish him for something that he hasn't done or ';might'; do.. ya know? Communication is good, too. Maybe you should talk to your hubby about how you're feeling.

What steps do i have to take to get emancipated from my parent?

I am 16 years old and am tired of living with my mother we get into a lot of fights and arguments!. I want to know what i have to do and how much it is and anything else that will help!.What steps do i have to take to get emancipated from my parent?
Not all states have emancipation laws. And those states that do have emancipation laws differ from one to another. I suggest you search on your state's emancipation laws for the info.

It's very difficult and takes a lot of time to become emancipated. While you're researching this, get a job and save your money so you might have a chance to have the court grant you emancipation. What steps do i have to take to get emancipated from my parent?
the court won't grant it with out you being able to support yourself with no help from others. If you're able to do that then go to the court house and ask for paperwork, you can even contact a lawyer in your state. One that specializes in family law like custody cases.
First you have to be able to prove you can provide for yourself. Do you have a job?

You have to have a better reason than your mother an you fight a lot ( I would think)

Then you have to get a lawyer an petition the court.

  • Do you need a parent to get a hamster at a petstore?

Do you need your parents to sign a form/contract thingie at a petstore to buy a hamster????? Do you need a parent to get a hamster at a petstore?
Many pet stores will not allow young kids to even be in their store alone much less buy and animal without their parents being there. In the pet shop where I used to work we would not make the parents sign anything, necessarily, but we wouldn't ever sell a pet to a kid that is alone.

The thing is, most kids who wouldn't want their parent to be there are the same that aren't allowed to have them at all, so when the parents find out they have it they will come back and yell at the pet shop employees for selling their kid a pet.Do you need a parent to get a hamster at a petstore?
Most places won't sell to a minor. If they think you're too young they'll ask for ID. So yes, you need your parents if you're under 18 to get a hamster.
depends what pet store, some do some don't, just ask the store people

How to add a parent to a hawaiian birth certificate?

Does anybody know how to add a father to a hawaiian birth certificate?

My neice was born in hawaii but her mother didnt put the australian's father on the birth certificate and she would like to live in Australia by decent. If there is such a form do both parents need to sign it?

thanks in advance! How to add a parent to a hawaiian birth certificate?
Probably need to PROVE paternity before the state will allow changes. Check with the birth county's record bureau. There may be a way. As far as getting into Australia, Check with the Australian Embassy in DC. Check to see if they have a counsel in LA of SF. She may be able to visit and argue her case.

What is the difference between a child raised by a single parent and a child raised by a homosexual couple?

A child raised by a single parent can grow up to be just a successful as any child raised by a mom and a dad, just because there's no opposite sex involved doesn't mean the child will automatically become disadvantaged??What is the difference between a child raised by a single parent and a child raised by a homosexual couple?
There are 2 parents in a homosexual family What is the difference between a child raised by a single parent and a child raised by a homosexual couple?
Well, most people who are against homosexuals raising a child are worried that they will spread their ';gay cooties'; to the child, something which a single straight parent can't do.

THAT of course, it total bull, as the homosexual's heterosexual parents obviously didn't spread their ';straight cooties'; to their child.

In MY opinion, I think that a child raised by a homosexual couple can be just as good, if not better-and more open-minded-, than a child raised by a heterosexual couple.

It depends on the PEOPLE raising the child in question, not their SEXUALITY.

    :D
Nothing, other than your example has two parents in one relationship and only one in the other. Most studies show that two loving parents generally raise successful children more often than one loving parent. Kind of like tag team wrestling, two adults are able to give more attention to their kids than one parent.

Sexual orientation of the parents hasn't been shown to be much of a factor in how kids turn out.
Nothing.... so long as the child / children are loved and taken care of what does it matter.... A parent is a parent.... there are good ones and bad ones... I doesn't matter if there is 1 or 2... m/f couple or same sex.... As long as they Love and take the best care of the child/ children that they can. Neither way says that they will grow up to be dis advantaged or a super achiever.... that's up to the child it's what he / she chooses to do with their life that dictates that....
Well there are two parents in a couple so its a lot easier to raise a child that way. Better income, one parent can stay home when the kid is sick, taking turns carting the kid around to his activities is easier, all kinds of things are easier with two parents.

If the single parent has some nearby help ready whenever they need it this can work pretty well too. Otherwise its usually a pretty rough road for a single parent.
And you would put a small child (7/8/9/up through the picking and name calling just to prove a point? And please don't say that they won't be picked on. Kids get picked on at this age for wearing glasses, having curly hair instead of straight like everyone else's, being the only red-head in the class, and other small things. Do you really think the other kids are going to ';over look'; someone having two gay moms or two gay dads show up for school events.
    I don't believe that it is wise for gay couples to raise children since society is prone to ridicule and go ape on children of same sex couples as they do gays, period. Plus, I would not do anything that heavy against God. Peace in and out.%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
The difference is one child was raised by an individual and the other child was raised by a couple.

Aside from that, there are no differences.

    It's all about parenting.
The child of the homosexual couple would receive more love than the child of a single parent.

I am a single parent, I CAN RECOGNIZE THAT THE LOVE FROM TWO PEOPLE IS PREFERABLE.

My son knows his mother loves him dearly.
There are 2 parents in the homosexual couple, thus the homosexual couple would be better.

Any christians who disagree should go die of aids.
It depends on the people who raise the child. Singularity or sexual orientation has nothing to do with. Either you're a good parent, or you're not.
A child raised by a single parent won't have to go through the ridicule he/she will no doubt receive for having gay/lesbian parents.
The relative opinion of the child concerning a great number of subjects,

not the least of which is homosexuality.
    There is nothing different

A loving family is a loving family
The kid will probably be more tolerant.

Really, I don't see the ';harmful'; effects of two fathers loving their son in a fatherly way.
Appreciation of what is normal and morally acceptable.
Lots of difference, with a single parent he would at least have a Christian raising.
One would probably get made fun of more.
LOOK at it from the ';Childs'; Prospective---
    Is the single parent gay?
wat bout the single parent is he or she gay/lesbian
A child raised by a single parent CAN be as successful as a child raised by two parents. However, statistically, it is less likely. Children raised by two parents in a loving home are more likely to be more successful than children raised by one parent in a loving home.

There are no differences between children's success rates coming from homosexual or heterosexual parents.
That is horrible it is the wrong example to expose children to.

A child is better off with a single parent than homo parents.
That child will grow up thinking it's ok to be gay.

Do i have to file personal and estate taxes form my parents?

My dad passed in may 2008 and my mom nov 2008, 59 and 58. I am the executor. The estate is currently in probate. I have a lawyer to help me with the estate taxes but don't know about personal taxes.Do i have to file personal and estate taxes form my parents?
Yes, personal tax returns must be filed. You may either do it yourself, pay the lawyer to do it, or pay someone else to do it.Do i have to file personal and estate taxes form my parents?
You are now a fiduciary. Technically your father needs to file a personal 1040 for 1/1/08 to 5/31/08 and a 1041(fiduciary tax return) from 6/1/08 to 12/31/08.

Since you lost your Mom so late in the year maybe you could file just a 1040 but of course a lot depends on how much income was generated.

If your parents gross estates were less than a specific amount $3.5 million in 2008 you will not need to file a Federal Estate Tax Return.

States are different and you will need to check your specific states inheritance laws

Your attorney will help you with personal taxes too.

Here is some important advice so pay attention. Attorney's can charge a percentage of the estate...or a negotiated amount.

If I had a large estate that was complicated I would expect an attorney to be properly compensated but if an estate of the same size was really simple then he could overcharge. Take the $3.5 million as an example. I would pay 10% if it had businesses in it and was really complicated but I would not want to pay 10% if it was only stocks and was very simple.....So negotiate with him...Frequently attorneys take home more than do the beneficiaries
better get a CPA - not many people can figure out estate taxes on their own

How can i convince my parents to allow me to get a ferret?

I am responsible enough for a ferret, and i've been researching them for 1month, and a half now, i've also checked every site possible to make sure i can take care of them, but my problem is there size. My parents don't do well with things larger then a hamster, which i find weird. But i think there realy just afraid for the ferret. How can i convince my parents to allow me to get a ferret?
Wow a WHOLE MONTH! You must be some sort of expert! Please tell me what you know about ferrets. I'm sure it's VERY little.

Ferrets are horrible pets for children. They're a LOT of work. Litter needs to be scooped DAILY. Food and water need to be topped off DAILY. They need at least a couple of several hour long out-of-cage play sessions DAILY. And kids quickly tire of the work involved with a ferret. The ferret ends up ignored, caged for weeks on end and then finally dumped at a shelter.

And by the time they make it to the shelter they're often very, very sick because the parents have left the child in charge of the pet and the child has neglected it. I've been at the shelter FAR too many times watching the shelter owner try to nurse back to health ferrets with advanced Insulinoma or Adrenal Disease or simply starved to death and its very heartbreaking. The ferrets most often don't make it.

Stick with a hamster or guinea pig. And then when you're older and out onyour own and have read ';Ferrets for Dummies'; cover to cover and make enough money to afford to REALLY care for one - THEN think about getting one.How can i convince my parents to allow me to get a ferret?
They cost about $110 i have one and actually this one gets on my nerves i had one before this one a few years ago and that one was such a trip she was amazing doing trick jumping taking change scratches your head was very lovable. this one now all it does is eat sh!t and sleep. When we take it out the cage it jumps up and down all crazy and bites out feet. We have two cats and a ferret they play together well it all depends on how they act this one wont use the litter box we bought he tossed it all around the cage and now he uses it in the corner of one of the landings. I gave up and just took the litter out. You really have to have patience and they smell so you have to keep it cleaned every two days or omg it stink. You have to give them vitamins everyday, vitamins in the water so really think about it. It is a life commitment and a little costly the cage was about $99 the ferret $110 and the food, litter, litter box, vitamins, toys and harness came around to $300.
Not a lot of people like ferrets. I bought me mine and brought it home me being 18 and haveing a job was a big problem. Simply ask ur mom and dad for one. Show them what u know and tell you mom and dad you would like one. If they say no at first run them buy your pet store and tell them how cute the are. Wait and they might get u one
maybe u should show that u really really want a ferret by saving up ur money to buy the ferret and the supplies. u should also show responsibility by doing chores around the house and stuff. do not beg! it doesn't work at all :P

  • How can I convince my parents to let my boyfriend in the house?

I'm 15, he's 16, and my parents won't even let him hang out for a few hours! Any ideas on how I can persuade them effectively? How can I convince my parents to let my boyfriend in the house?
Have your boyfriend meet your parents.

And if its not considered early for you...have his parents meet with your parents.

So all of you can know one another and you can show your parents that they're good people and you can trust them.

My parents wouldn't let my boyfriend in the house in the beg. of the relationship, but I quickly introduced them and they began wanted to know more about him and eventually, he was welcomed here and now they absolutely love him.

Also, you can let your parents know how responsible you are and you know whats the differences from ';right'; and ';wrong.'; But the best thing you can do is, let your parents meet your boyfriend. And you can tell them he can help you study for a big test and all that...study buddies and all that good stuffHow can I convince my parents to let my boyfriend in the house?
Turn 18 and buy a house thats the only way they could not stop you from having him in the house.

Otherwise if you have a source of income perhaps have a dinner date somewhere with your bf and invite your parents to join the two of you. Perhaps if they spend time with him outside the house and like him they will be more willing to have him over.

If not their word is final.
Let your parents know that you Boyfriend wants to meet them. Maybe over dinner. It doesn't have to be at your house. But want your parents want to see is that your taken care of and that your boyfriend is honest, and respectful. Good luck
get a chastity belt or cut off his genitals. If your tying to have sex with him or make out its not gonna happen.

The best solution is to bring a friend or 2 with you and don't tell your parents he's your bf say he's your friends bf.
Be the best you can(clean, cook, be obedient, etc.)then tell them it's your bf who's influencing you. :)

    Blessings,

    Bailey

How do I tell my parents we want to move away?

Hello. I am 19 years old,and am getting married to the love of my life in May of this year. We are looking to buy a house soon, but we want to move out of the state. My parents and I are really close, and as of right now, my fiance and I only live about10 minutes away from them. We do not know how to tell them, without them freaking out on us. Please help, I need any adviceyou can offer. How do I tell my parents we want to move away?
There's nothing to do but just tell them. Take them out to dinner or something, and let them know that you plan to move away, but you'll visit often and such. You're an adult now, and they raised you to be successful and independent. They may not freak out at all! Maybe they'll be happy for you and respect your decision. You and your parents can still remain very close emotionally, without being close geographically. If they do freak out, they will get over it. It's not your problem it's theirs. It's called ';empty nest syndrome';, and parents go through it sometimes when children move away.

How can I convince my parents to give me a later bedtime?

I'm 13, and they send me to be at nine... I don't even fall asleep until 10:30, so I spend an hour and a half staring at the ceiling! How can I convince my parents to give me a later bedtime?
Well, I don't know if this applies to you, but one reason my parents always gave me an early bedtime was because I complained about waking up in the morning. Or I overslept, lol. So be responsible about getting up by yourself on time and they won't think ';Oh, I have to send her to bed early, she's too tired in the morning';.

And just try to talk to them about it. Just explain that you spend an hour and a half doing nothing, and it's hard to sleep when you aren't ready to. Maybe get on your PJs and have your teeth brushed by 9, and just ask if you can spend the next hour doing something calm, like reading or watching TV to help you get sleepy.

Hopefully this helps. But yeah, #1 thing is BE RESPONSIBLE that gets parents to understand where you are coming from. How can I convince my parents to give me a later bedtime?
To be honest, I havent had a bedtime since i was 9. Im 14 and i go to bed at 2 most nights because im on the phone. you must have over pretective parents. Im sorry
Tell them that. But unless you're waking up an hour before the time you're supposed to wake up, 9pm sounds reasonable enough to me.
9:30 bedtime here, i'm 13 my mom makes me go to bed then because i'm up to 2:00 most of the time

How do I tell my parents my 15 year old brother was doing pot?

I came to visit my family for my 21st birthday and I saw my brother doing pot in the garage. He begged me not to tell, but I can't just go along letting him kill off his brain cells. I want to tell my parents, but I'm not sure what to say. What if they don't believe me? Help? How do I tell my parents my 15 year old brother was doing pot?
I have a little brother and if and when I caught him partaking in an activity that can damages his health or future. I spoke to him and let him know that I can not keep a secret like this from our mother and I was going talk with my mother about what he was doing. He understood him and I are still close and my mother was allowed to seek help for him. By you not telling your parents you are helping him pick up and addiction. Sometimes, one addiction can lead to another addition like smoking or worse a stronger high than marijuana. Please tell your parents before that happens. How do I tell my parents my 15 year old brother was doing pot?
Id let them know you need to sit down and talk to them about something serious. Just tell them but let them know its important and that you are telling them because you care about your brother. Why wouldnt they believe you? Good luck
do what you think is best...he'll get caught anyway!! be very plain and just be out with it
    Say ';mommy daddy ,my 15 year old brother is doing pot!';
well first off happy b-day and second tell them what you say. Just tell them.

you brother might hate you for awhile. Though he will understand in time.
Well, not to say I condone it, but it's possible he was trying it once.

Popular belief, and what everyone is often told, is that once a kid tries pot, he or she will continue doing it until forced not to.

But actually, most of the people I know will try it for a month or two, and stop. Also, one highly disputed fact is whether it's evne addicting -- many people will tell you it is, however, as someone that knows a lot of ';expiriment-prone'; teenagers, I can honestly say I've never known anyone addicted to pot.

Instead of talking to your parents immediately, I'd recommend you talk to your brother yourself, at first -- see how that works out.

';Look, ___, I know you tried pot, and I know you don't want me to say anything. And to be honest man, I can't promise that. But, I wanna know a couple of things -- before you say anything, I won't tell mom and dad any of the sh!t you tell me right now, if I do tell them what you did. From this point forward, confidential.'; %26lt;%26lt;-- Start with something like that. Find out why he did it, how long he's been doing it, what he thinks of it, what his friends think of it, where he's getting it, how long he plans to use it, whether he thinks it's affecting him, etc. You may find that he's got a better head on his shoulders than perceived.

No guarantees, but there's a chance you'll be satisfied with the answer. If you think he might be fine, don't push it, just bring it up every now and then, and keep an eye on it. If you get the feeling he's lying, or he says he doesn't plan to stop, then tell your parents.

    If it does come to that, I think the best way to handle it, is to be a little subtle, but get the point across. Ask something like, ';By the way Dad, _____'s getting a little older. Have you talked to him yet about drugs, and drinking??'; Depending on the answer, you might say something like, ';Well, I just think you should mention it to him. The other day, I saw something, it looked like he was smoking, maybe pot, I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm concerned about him.';

If you're 21, and he's 15, unless for some reason they don't trust you, they'll believe you. There isn't much benefit you'd ever get from telling your parents that, if it weren't true -- and plus, when they think about it, unless they don't pay any attention, they'll realize there were probably signs.

    Good luck =]
    doing pot?

what was he doing to the pot?
I can understant that he begged you not to tell but he is killing himself, i dont like to say it like that, but he is. You just need to go up to one of them...whichever you feel most comfortable talking to.....and ask them if you can talk to them in private, that it is important. tell them first that he begged you not to tell and to please not tell him that you told then tell them. i dont think that you parents would actually tell him that you went and told because they would be so glad that youo told. (Trust me, when he os older he will thank you for telling) i wish you best luck and you can contact me if you wish.
If this is remotely true, then just come right out and tell them. Your brother is doing something moronic. Idiots use drugs. Your parents need to know so that they can stop him.
Just sit your parents down and tell them. ';Mom, Dad, I saw _______ smoking in the garage. I think it was marijuana.'; It's better to tell them than let him get addicted to it and ruin his life...

  • How should I tell my parents that I was asked out?

Today I was just asked out by this guy I like and he also has the same feelings for me... I don't know how to tell my parents though. When should I tell them and what should I say?

Thank you very much for your answers! How should I tell my parents that I was asked out?
dnt tell ur parents now.just go out him/and see him.if u think he is perfect man then tell ur parents about him.How should I tell my parents that I was asked out?
First pray to have the grace and courage. I suggest you talk first to one of your parents who have a special bond with you.or close to you. honesty is always the best policy and it will avoid regrets in the end. If they said no, you take the next step bring the guy to your home and introduce him to your parents. Parents will give in especially if the intentions are sincere. It is always best to communicate well rather than to keep secrets, I am talking base on my experience. Hope this help and goodluck..God bless you always

How can i persuade my parents to get me a mobile contract?

I have had my LG chocolate for 2 years now and now i am dying to get either a blackberry pearl or iPhone (only come on contract), but i need to convince my dad why i should get a contract. (拢25 minimum!)

    Any ideas?

ideas like: i need a business phone for school etc?How can i persuade my parents to get me a mobile contract?
Tell them that you are growing up and feel that you are mature enough to carry on the responsibility. Ask him to co-sign the contract for you and pay it yourself (don't ask him to pay it for you). That will be the first step to prove to them (and yourself) that you can make grown up decisions ... next? That new car?! ;-)How can i persuade my parents to get me a mobile contract?
i got mine on contract because it was sold out on pay as you go.

    try saying things like..

it will more than likely end up cheaper as you do not have to pay for the phone (in most cases) and you don't have to pay for credit.

if you think you will use all the free minutes %26amp; texts then you should be allowed, though if you hardly ever use them then it is pointless really.

oh, and it depends how old you are.
heres the thing i wouldn't get the black berry pearl. Because it suckksss. the iphone is a great phonel. i would tell anyone to get it. i have it and ilove it. %26lt;3

But for your problem just tell them that you are due for a new phone and that your phone is old.
if you ever need help you can call home but if it's a pay as you go your likely to have no credit.

it works out cheaper in the long run if you have a contract.

all of your friends have one.

you promise not to go over the limit.

it's a really good deal it comes with !
well i was lik you i pay 拢20 a month and it comes out my mums bank then i give her the money. lol

    So it costs her nothing:)

And well the phones you wont are exspencive so they will have bigger coacts.Try a littl lower but not much lol:) you will be suprissed what you can find.
Get a job, and pay for your own phone/contract and then you don't have to beg your parents for an item you don't really need.
Try to make yourself look responsible, ya know?

tell him all the pros and cons [make more pros] and make him a resonable promise and keep it.

    It worked for me.

and if you have a job, tell him you'll pay a portion of it :)

    good luck
why do you need a business phone?? not cool.

just say if theres an emergency and you dont have any credit what will you do? or keep asking for money for credit and he will get fed up and put you on contract.
Your parents have obviously said no, that doesn't mean perhaps, it doesn't mean maybe, it doesn't mean you can nag them it means NO. Live with it and move on.
earn the money for it yourself by asking your dad if you can do chores for it. then he can feel confident you'll be responsible about it.
Why should your parents fund it?

I say he is more worried in case you over and have a high bill.
Id stick to pay as you go - do you want them reading/tracking all your calls and numbers??

my sister has a pink blckberry and has had loads of problems with it - think shes on her 3rd one!!
why not fund it yourself? i wouldn't have allowed my children contract phones either...so i tend to be on your parents side...sorry!

How do I convince my parents to let me go to a Dir En Grey concert?

I really want to go but they are saying I'm too young and THEY don't like the music Dir En Grey plays. They are saying that because it's 4 hours from my town, it's too far to see a concert.

I know I'm only a freshman. Is that too young to go see them in concert. My mom or dad would be with me.How do I convince my parents to let me go to a Dir En Grey concert?
Okay, first some experience. I was in sixth grade when I went to my first concert, which was a screamo/rock/punkpop concert held seven hours from my home town. No one in my family really likes my music, but... my mom took me anyway and it was great. So maybe you might want to mention that?

Anyway - bring this up to your parents. You are a freshman, a young adult.. You're in high school and that's where the real game begins. Bring this to their attention - you're a high schooler. Things start changing - people want to have sex and do drugs. If they can't trust you enough to go to a freaking concert with at least one of them by your side.. how are they supposed to trust you with handling peer pressure? Offer to help pay for the tickets and gas money. Double up on chores and be extra helpful and nice. Show them you are responsible and tell them that you really love Dir en grey and it doesn't matter what type of music they play - it shouldn't matter, right? Because if they're only worrying about THEM getting a headache.. isn't that selfish?

Eh. I'm not sure where I'm going with this. Best of luck. Hope you get to go. And if you do..... I'm totally jealous of you. xP Have fun and make sure to soak it in as much as possible. Haha. (;How do I convince my parents to let me go to a Dir En Grey concert?
Depends. I'm not sure if Dir en grey does this like Miyavi. (Have a concert for people with an ID and an all-admission). The key, is to be sneaky. Only turn on their calmer songs and show the pictures of them without makeup. Preferrably where Kyo isn't bloodied and stuff.

Anyways, good luck. I think I'm about to miss this year's tour too. ):
Despite how awesome Dir en grey is, I have to say you should wait until you're older and can find transportation on your own. It would be quite a bother for your parent(s) to take you.

GLASS SKIN is AWESOME, by the way.
    I LOVE DIR EN GREY.

Sorry. Went a little crazy there.

Offer to pay for the ticket, and then volunteer to go to a concert you don't want to go to but they do. That should help some.

    Hope this helps!

    Ryan
If I were you I would wait until I'm old enough. I wouldn't want my parents to see Kyo cutting himself on stage.
i don't think it is a good idea cause there could be a sick person

Where do you fall on the political spectrum? How about your parents?

Just curious to see if there is any kind of correlation (direct or inverse).

The spectrum would be: Far-right conservative, moderate conservative, centrist, moderate liberal, far-left liberal. I realize that many people have both conservative and liberal opinions, but please pick whichever one fits the majority of your stances.Where do you fall on the political spectrum? How about your parents?
FAR left Liberal. I am pro everything.

Parents are moderate.Where do you fall on the political spectrum? How about your parents?
Father: No set pattern. He usually votes for the individual candidates he likes best. This typically is a moderate conservative vote from him. Although, this year, being fed up with local, state, and federal politicians of a particular party, he voted 100% liberal. He said he's never voted all one party before in his life.

Mother: Moderate to Farleft liberal. After Nixon, she vowed never to vote republican again, for any office. As far as I know, she has stuck to her guns on that declaration of intent. She did vote for Jesse Ventura (Reform Party) for governor in 1998... I think my whole family did.

    Sister: I have no idea. She never talks politics, but I know she is always interested. When people ask her where she stands politically, she will say, ';Just vote!';

Myself: Was very liberal up util the last couple of years, as I have gotten more into actually understanding the issues that concern me the most, I have decided I am neither Republican nor Democrat. ';Very third party.'; I would still probably classify myself as a moderate liberal on most issues.
More and more I'm supporting the Libertarian wing of the Republican party. So many of the other types of Republicans have abandoned the fiscal ideals that Republicans were once known for. Check out the Republican Liberty Caucus, It's up to us to save the Republican party.
mom was a Catholic and tended to be Conservative on social issues...but she was actually what would be considered a Pat Buchanan Repub. today....Dad was a Methodist and union and voted always Dem....i tend to be liberal in social issues and Conservative in economic issues...almost a libertarian

i'm 53 yrs old and used to be a Reagan Democrat...now I fear Republicans
Well, my Dad is a far-right conservative, my Mom is a moderate liberal, and I'm a libertarian... go figure.
My parents were a moderate liberal union family. I am a political Libertarian and social liberal....Kinda don't fit in your boxes, huh.
I am far right conservative so is my father and my mother was a far left liberal. My grandparents who raised me were both far right conservatives.
I suppose that I would be considered a far-right conservative.

    My parents were centrist.

Will you post your conclusions? Just curious.
Im far-right conservative, and my parents can be a mix of far-right conservative and conservative
    moderate conservative.

Rest of my family are moderate liberals.
My folks used to vote Democrat no matter what. Until they joined the Jehovah's Witness cult. Then they stopped voting. I left the cult recently and voted Republican. I am a moderate conservative.
i usually like to be right in the middle that way i wont fall off, oops wrong category

put me under ';immodest conservative';. tmm

my parents were just plain selfish
For the most part, I'm a far-left liberal, and my parents are moderate liberals.
    Centrist, just leaning conservative.

My parents are both far rights.
    far left liberal.

My parents are both moderate liberals I would say

But are both very religious, and I am not at all
me Far-right conservative (kinda sorta, without the bible thumping)

    maw and paw moderate conservative
My parents were pretty centrist. So am I. My brother lives and breathes Rush and Sean. He watches FOX all day.
I'm a Libertarian and my folks are Republicans

How to convince my parents to get me a dog?

Ok i have money saved up and a dog from a shelter that would fit our lifestyle and i will be helping out at the shelter with my mom where the dog is at as how can i convince her to get the dog.

Please no comments like it's her cause cause i know it is and i'm trying to get her to choose to get and dog

and no comments like Use the search bar.

Thank youHow to convince my parents to get me a dog?
tell her you'll meet her half way, like you will do chores and take care of the dog but you have to think about the vet and all that good stuff that costs a lot of money. good luckk!!

=]How to convince my parents to get me a dog?
Show a lot of responsibility around the house, for one. Go above and beyond what you are usually expected to do - because owning a dog is a lot of work, and your mom probably doesn't want to get roped into doing it all herself. Also, you need to evaluate if your family really needs a dog. Do you have a kennel? Room outside to run - like a fenced yard? Will you be paying for the dog food and the vet bills? Because you must get annual vet care to be a responsible pet owner, and it's not cheap. Each year, we pay about $200 per dog on a routine exam and the flea/tick preventative %26amp; wormer pills. You must realize, also - if your parents don't want a dog, they are probably thinking about the fact that a dog can require a commitment of up to 15 or 16 years. Are you going to live at home for that long? What about when you go off to college? College life isn't a sweet life for a dog, when his owner needs to pay attention to homework or would rather be out with friends than playing frisbee in the park. Mu best advice to you: volunteer your time at a local animal shelter, or put an ad in the paper to be a dog-walker. You will get your puppy fix %26amp; you might even earn some cash in the process. Plus, you parents won't get upset that you keep asking :)
You can't force someone to do something they don't want to do - and you shouldn't TRY to either. Goes to show how much you care about other people and their thoughts/feelings/opinions.....

HER house, HER rules. NO dog means no dog. End of story. You can ask her nicely and ask if she'll meet the dog but the final decision belongs to her, the adult and home owner.

Money is not going to be the only concern she'll have - the responsibility (feeding, training, grooming, walking, vet care, etc) is another. As is what will happen when YOU go to college (very few have pet friendly dorms, very few allow freshmen to live in apartments, and it's very hard to FIND affordable pet friendly apartments where you need them to be.)
Well just try to keep talking to her and show her you're responsible enough to get a dog. spend more time at the shelters, volunteer, help out or even start a petsitting business! in may take a little while but she'll see (if you push her) that you're ready for a dog.
move out...she might even pay for it then!

How to tell my parents that I have a boyfriend?

I'm 16, never really been in a relationship before, but I am now. My mum and dad are really cool about boys and things like that, but I just don't really know how to say it to them :s

Any ideas? How to tell my parents that I have a boyfriend?
just say I really like this boy and he asked me out are you ok with me going out with him.How to tell my parents that I have a boyfriend?
Ask your parents what they would think of boy who was like this, and then list all his good points, with the usual comments. When they agree that he certainly seems like an up right gentleman, then tell them that you have become very chummy with such a great guy.
if u have a date with ur boy friend then just say that you have a date that (whatever day) and they'll probably say ';with who!?'; and stuff and then you can tell them.
Just say that I have a boyfriend now, he's really nice and sweet. You should meet him sometime!

unless he isn't, then I don't know what to tell you. haha
Just tell them there's a boy you like and you hope they are kewl with you dating him. At 16 you're old enough to date...if you are also mature enough.
    bring him round ';an say we'll **** in my parents bed';

  • How to convince my parents to let me adopt a dog for my birthday in a month?

So my birthday is in a month and i really want a dog. I already have a dog but she is attached to my mom. I want a dog of my own. My moms says no but im not giving up. Its either a dog or no Birthday. Im gonna be a teen. (13)...help?How to convince my parents to let me adopt a dog for my birthday in a month?
Your gonna be a teeny bopper and teenagers and dogs don't mix!

Why not get something else for now and get a dog when you can be there 24/7.

What happens when you change your mind say in month or year for a cell phone? What happens with the dog then?

How to convince my parents to let me adopt a dog for my birthday in a month?
Then have no birthday. Maybe your mother is saying no because you're saying that's your ';mom's'; dog. You are a member of the pack, just like any siblings you have, parents, etc. Your mom may be a pack leader but you are just as responsible for taking care of her as anyone else. Maybe you should take an interest in the dog you already have by taking her for walks, doing obedience and grooming. Then later on you can get a dog.

If that's insufficient then talk to your parents about volunteering at a shelter after school. Then you can be around dogs that will love and adore you for being there.
Dogs belong to the family, not to just one person. They tend to gravitate around the member with the calmest, most assertive energy and whoever takes the most care of them.

By saying ';my dog'; you are creating a rift between you (and the dog) and the rest of your family, and that can result in aggression from the dog directed at family members.

If mom says no then that's the final answer - you're asking for a VERY expensive gift. Not counting the cost of the dog SOMEONE will have to buy initial supplies and vet care (about $400), pay for monthly general care fees (about $150 a month or so), and take care of any emergency bills (can shoot up to around a grand or more.)

Add to that, you will be in school a lot. Who takes care of the dog(s) when you leave? Or when you finally get a job? Want to hang out with friends? Go to college? The care of both dogs will fall on mom and family - maybe she doesn't want that.
Well Happy B-Day first of all! And I want a dog for my b-day... But my mom says I'm not responsible enough... and I agree with her. So if your not ready for the comitment dont bother. But maybe if you dont already... start to take care of the dog you have. Take over all of the resposibilities for your mom. And the dog might also like you a little more.
Hey. If you can help pay for the dog that might help. By the way there is a fifty percent chance your mom is going to surprise you with a new puppy. If she is asking you questions every now and then she probably is going to surprise you. I hope you have a FABULOUS birthday and get your wish!
Show them your ready to have the responsibilty of having a pet..

having a dog needs commitment, its like you are having another meber in your family,

show them the benefits of having a dog,..

    http://dogtime.com/dog-ready
i can see why i highly doubt you are gonna be there 24/7 with the dog for 18 yrs? or wat ever the dogs life span is. you wont have time.

No bday it is .. i guess.

How to convince my parents to get me a parakeet for Christmas?

well this qestion comes up a lot bot usualy has nothing to do with Christmas but any ways, I want a young parakeet for Christmas now this would be easy BUT, I already have 2 lovebirds that i disided to adopt from my granmother because she couldent take care of them anymore but they are NOTHING like all these birds i hear about and see, they dont like me and never will(lol) and the girl is terified of humans and the boy is ok but very agrasive and i just have a feeling he hates me lol i dont mind taking care of them but they dont show any love back and i have tried to much stuff to tame them to keep trying they are already 8 years old i got them about 5 months ago they just sit around eat and drink there not like yours or the ones u see on youtube they are not happy they dont like humans and they hate toys and fruits(i really dont know how they dont like fruits or veggies). So i want this young parakeet because i belive that he has not fully developed wierd habbits and will be tamable, fun and like me basicly the opasite from my lovebirds. how can i get my mom to get me one?How to convince my parents to get me a parakeet for Christmas?
I think lovebirds are great pets! they are my fav animal. just take them out over and over again, gaining there trust, and make sure its always YOU that feed them so they know that your the one who takes care of them. talk and wistle to them as often as possible and they will learn to trust you. if you do get a new bird, pleaaaase pleease pleaase dont forget about the lovebirds and just make them sit in there little cage all day long! try to play with the lovebirds as often as the new one! And to convince your parents to let you have another bird, you are going to have to start spending a LOT of time with the lovebirds to show that you CAN take care of birds and are responsible and wont just forget about them. if you dont think you can give your three birds equal attention, dont get a new one or give the lovebirds to another loving home. im not saying your not taking caare of them, you sound like youve tried to feed them veggies and every thing but dont give up!!

any ways good luck trying and i wish the best for you and your birdies!

(my lovebirds fav veggies are brocolli and carrots)How to convince my parents to get me a parakeet for Christmas?
tell your parents that you need a loyal friend %26amp; you want to experience responsibility, so that you will grow up as a more responsible human in future.
first research about the bird u want find out wat it is how much then make a plan 2 take care of it learn facts about the bird and save up some money then help around the house try 2 stay out of trouble and don't complain when u don't get something u want and don'targue with her moms hate that and it makes them think ur immature and were rude and don't deserve it.and finally make a list of objections she might have and come up with reasonable answers 2 them .then pick a night tell her that ur birds wont have a baby ,tell her some facts about the bird u want tell her where it is and how much it is show her a picture and tell her that ur prepared 2

pitch in and help pay 4 it and tell her u really want it
Okay, first of all, if the lovebirds become too much for you, keep in mind that ASPCA will take them and put them up for adoption. I had a parakeet for years (until he passed) and they are the bomb! They are so fun and they do become attached to you. We had him trained to fly to our fingers, sit on our shoulders, and he could even open his cage himself and fly to us. You must keep their cage VERY clean, fresh food and water all the time and keep them away from drafts. Tell your mom that a parakeet is a great pet for a young person and it teaches them responsibility. They don't poop on the floor and their food is much less expensive than a cat or dogs. Hang in there and good luck to you!!

What is a good recipe i can use to impress my parents for dinner?

I am cooking dinner tonight for my family and i really want it to be impressive. Im going shopping to buy the ingredients soon, so if anyone could suggest a good meal they have tried than im all ears!

Thanks :)What is a good recipe i can use to impress my parents for dinner?
keep it simple...roast a chicken and throw in potatoes, carrots and onions into the pan half way through baking. Buy a package of gravy mix and viola...dinner is served. Don't stress out about what to make for dinner...your parents won't really care what they eat...they will just be happy to be at your place by invitation. What is a good recipe i can use to impress my parents for dinner?

I like goat cheese and pistachio salmon. The ingredients are real simple, I like to spread a little olive oil over the salmon (or chicken if you prefer) and then mix the goat cheese on top and sprinkle pistachio's over top then you just broil them for 7-10 minutes.

and this is a great side dish

    Ingredients:

Couscous with Asparagus and Toasted Pistachio Vinaigrette

    Pistachio vinaigrette

    1/4 pound salted shelled pistachios

    3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

    4 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

    Salt

    Freshly ground pepper to taste

    The rest:

    1 bunch asparagus

    8 large shiitake mushrooms

    1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme

    3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

    2-1/4 cups water

    1-1/2 cups quick-cooking couscous

    1/4 tsp salt

    1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

    1 cup canned chickpeas, rinsed

    Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350掳F (175掳C). Place pistachios on a baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let the nuts cool. Put the pistachios in a food processor and process until they are ground fine. Warm the olive oil over medium heat. With the motor running, drizzle the olive oil through the feed tube. Pour the pistachio oil into a glass jar and let it stand, covered, overnight at room temperature. Strain the oil through a fine strainer into a salad dressing cruet. Stir in or shake in the balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper. Set aside.

Preheat the oven to 450掳F (205掳C). Rinse the asparagus under cold running water. Cut about 1 inch off the root end of the asparagus and cut each stalk into 2-inch pieces. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and julienne. In a mixing bowl, toss the asparagus, mushrooms, and thyme with the olive oil. Roast the asparagus-mushroom mixture in the oven until the asparagus is still crisp yet cooked through (about 8 minutes).

While the aspargus is roasting, make the couscous. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the couscous and stir. Remove the pan from the heat, cover it tightly, and let it stand until the couscous absorbs the liquid (about 5 minutes). Transfer the couscous to a large serving bowl. Add salt and pepper. Fold in the roasted asparagus-mushroom mixture and stir to combine. Add the chickpeas. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the pistachio vinaigrette over the couscous and toss again. The pistachio vinaigrette stands alone as a tasty dressing for a mixed green salad.

    Yield: Serves 4

I just made this the other night and it was sooo good. Serve it with salad and garlic bread and you'll have a hit.

In a skillet, saut茅 the ham, mushrooms and garlic in 3 tablespoons butter. Meanwhile, cook fettuccine according to package directions; drain. Melt the remaining butter in a large saucepan. Stir in the fettuccine, Parmesan cheese, sour cream and pepper. Add the ham mixture; toss to coat.

the most impressive thing i make (even though i'm not vegetarian) is eggplant parmesan. it takes a fairly long time, but it's not actually that hard %26amp; it's pretty cheap %26amp; SO good! i don't have a specific recipe, you can kind of tailor it to how you like it. i just did a google search for some tips on how to bread %26amp; fry eggplant, %26amp; then you just layer it with your favorite tomato sauce %26amp; lots of cheese in a casserole dish %26amp; bake at 350-375 for like 20 minutes. serve over pasta with garlic bread %26amp; salad, %26amp; i promise you will get raves!

(i also love making fettuccini alfredo with chicken sauteed in olive oil %26amp; garlic, %26amp; broccoli or spinach. try the ';quick %26amp; easy alfredo'; from allrecipes.com for the sauce.)

and, i recently tried a sweet %26amp; sour chicken recipe from allrecipes, which was pretty cool %26amp; authentic looking.

    i love cooking! have fun!
    Seafood Linguini

    SAUTE: 2 TSP. GARLIC POWDER

    2 TSP. OREGANO

    4 TBLS. MARGARINE

    (for 1 minute, stirring constantly)

ADD: 2 MEDIUM TOMATOES (CHOPPED) (I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes in tomatoe juice, 14.5 oz each can, total of 29 oz)

(Stir and cook for 3 minutes)

    ADD: 12oz MILNOT

    1 CUP GREEN ONIONS (CHOPPED)

    1 CUP GRATED SWISS CHEESE

    6 OZ. GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE

    After cheeses have melted

ADD: 16 OZ. IMITATION CRAB (I used 24 oz)

POUR OVER: 12 OZ. COOKED LINGUINE NOODLES

NOTE: There's just a little milk left in the can. After I drain the noodles, I pour the remaining milk over the noodles and stir, before I add the sauce. It thickens up considerably after setting a while.

    Remember milnot is evaporated MILK

    this is sooo easy!!
