You can fly alone but you are considered an unaccompanied minor and the airports are very strict about that. A parent or guardian has to sign you in at the airport and another appointed person has to sign you out at your destination. At 16 you can fly alone on almost any airline. Just double check with the airline to make sure. No extra cost.
