All Children Deserve Two Parents

Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears has noted, children born to unmarried women and to those in cohabiting relationships “must often overcome increased risks of poverty, education failure, child abuse, delinquency, emotional distress and mental illness.”…….the lack of a father’s guidance in children’s lives is a major cause of their suffering. “Marriage is the best child welfare, crime prevention, anti-poverty program we have,”

“Ominously, the most reliable predictor of crime is neither poverty nor race but growing up fatherless.”

Single mothers and the baby boom

For some, the growth of single-mother families is a sign of female empowerment. If children without fathers fare worse than children in two-parent families, say defenders of single mothers, the answer is better pay for women and better social programs. Yet even in Sweden with its generous welfare state, a major 2003 study found that children raised in single-parent homes were at significantly higher risk for addictions and serious psychiatric problems.

I'm sorry that you are living in that kind of environment but you really don't have that kind of power and as you get older you'll understand why you don't even want to have it. But right now you are dealing with a very hard situation and it is unfair to you. Try talking to your parents individually or together about how their fights make you feel and even that you wish they would divorce rather than to stay together and make home life miserable. Again, I'm truly sorry for what you are going thru and think it's important that you talk to them about how this is effecting you. That might force their hand one way or the other but at the end of the day it's their decision. Good luck.
Do you seriously want to deal with the ';So, which parent do YOU want to live with, and for how long?'; thing? and if you have siblings, then guess what? They may be living with another parent.

It costs alot of money, and you'll have a schedule like this:

Mon.-mom's

Tues.-mom's

Wed-mom's then dads for 3 hrs

Thur mom's then dad's for 3 hrs

Fri-mom's then spend night at dad's

Sat-dad's

Sun-dad's then spend night at mom's

It's stressfull, annoying, and two words: MARRIAGE COUNSEL

(but if you think it's worth it, then why not?)
They are only fighting. If they really wanted a divorce then they would have already gotten a divorce. But if you do really feel they should, tell them how you feel, maybe they will sort it out or maybe they will listen to you. They are adults and are mature enough to make those decisions, good luck for them. and yourself.
Tell them that they need counseling and need to stop arguing in front of you. You shouldn't have to listen to it. As for telling them to get a divorce that isn't up to you kiddo. Just remember that you are learning about marriages with this, and you need to avoid repeating what they are teaching.
why not tell them how u feel maybe they will stop
Sit down and talk to them - together. Tell them all of you would be happier if one of them would leave.
