If you are under eighteen, can you enter Canada without a parent coming from the US?

My friend and I want to take a day trip to Canada, as we live relatively close. The other person traveling with us is 20, but her and I are underage.

Will we be admitted, or do we need any special documents? If you are under eighteen, can you enter Canada without a parent coming from the US?
My daughter entered Canada alone lots of times from when she was 14 with no special documentation except her passport.

Driving? You need ID and proof of citizenship (birth certificate); also, children under age 18 traveling to Canada without both legal guardians are recommended to have a notarized letter of consent from the non-traveling parent(s) granting permission for the child to travel across international borders.

Flying? You need a passport.
