Is there a law against being a border patrol officer if your parents are illegal?

All of the border patrol I have met in Texas are Mexican- Americans. Of those they all seem to support illegal immigration. Is there a law against being a border patrol officer if your parents are illegal?
We have Mexicans attempting to stop other Mexicans from entering? A conflict of interest may arise! Is there a law against being a border patrol officer if your parents are illegal?
Nope you just have to be a a US citizen.
as long as the officer is a u.s. citizen, either born here or went through the procedure to be an american citizen, there is no law against it and it is perfectly fine
if you were appointed to that position, would you be able to arrest your parents for breaking the law
the law would be morals!

There is no such thing as Mexican-America born in the USA, or African-American, or Latino-American!

If you were a ';Mexican'; citizen then you immigrated to America (legally) and became a United States Citizen, then you are a Mexican American! Now if you were born in Mexico and you come to the USA, but don't become a citizen, only a resident you're still a Mexican. If you're born in America but your parents were born in Mexico your American. Now you can be an American with Mexican (Hispanic) descent, or an American with Nigerian descent, and so on. We have a white officer who was born in Africa, and he checked the ';African American'; box on an application and they accused him of lying, b/c the US has to be so politically correct and can't call a spade a spade or a black person black or white person white b/c someone might cry and feel they are being magically persecuted based on ';their'; race? Even though on the guidelines of the application they are assuming that ';African'; American is a black person, which the wording is meaning someone who immigrated from Africa to America and changed their citizenship to American, therefor technically they have two citizenship, African and American.

You can not become a US Border Patrol Agent if your not a United States Citizen.
Of course not. You have to be a citizen. It doesn't matter if your mother was a sheep. If you are a citizen, you can work there.

By suggesting that Mexican Americans won't do their job because of the color of their skin is comparable to saying that white prison guards can't effectively guard white inmates, or that African American officers can't pull over other African Americans.......
no all you have to be is a us citizen. my father came here illegally back in the 70's. i was born here and am a citizen. i was able to join both the army and the marine corps, i was looking into the border patrol and the recruiter told me i could join i would just have to distance myself from any of my illegal family members.
That would make no sense... because it would be their civic duty to turn their parents over to ICE... I don't think they should be allowed to be border patrol if they support ';illegal'; migration...
no. their parents have nothing to do with it.

But if they were Americans of Mexican descent, and supported ';illegal immigration,'; why would they want to WASTE their lives stopping people who they support coming in?

But I think they do in fact do their jobs but they support that fact that 12 million illegals are already here and something needs to be done.

I'm pro-reform, and I do want the US to secure the borders so no more illegal immigrants can come in.
